Our Commitment
GoldenGuard exists to protect seniors, and that protection extends to your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We never sell your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, and account settings. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your mobile phone number along with a record of any SMS consent you give. When you use the scam-check tool, you may forward us the text of suspicious messages or emails so we can analyze them. We also collect limited technical data such as device type and general service-usage information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the Service, analyze forwarded messages and return scam guidance, personalize educational content, respond to support requests, and improve our detection over time. We may send you safety alerts and account notices.
3. Forwarded Messages
Messages you forward for a scam check are processed to generate a response. We may retain anonymized patterns from these messages to improve accuracy, but we take care to remove personal identifiers. Do not include sensitive information such as full account numbers or passwords when forwarding a message.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting and messaging providers), and only as necessary to deliver the Service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members. We do not sell your data.
Mobile information and SMS consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and text-messaging consent are used solely to deliver the service-related messages you requested, and are shared only with the messaging provider that transmits those messages on our behalf.
5. Text Messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile phone number to send recurring service-related messages, including scam-analysis responses, security alerts, account notifications, and service updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance. SMS consent is optional and is never a condition of joining the waitlist or using the Service. Providing a phone number without checking the SMS consent box does not enroll you in text messaging.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account or waitlist entry is active, or as needed to provide the Service. Waitlist information is kept until launch communications are complete or you ask us to remove it. SMS consent records are retained for as long as you remain opted in, and for a reasonable period afterward to document your messaging preferences. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us, and we will honor the request as required by applicable law.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to keep your data safe.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your account information at any time. You can opt out of non-essential communications, and you may request that we delete your data by contacting us. We will honor requests as required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
GoldenGuard is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and we may notify you directly when appropriate.
